Have you ever wondered where your cat is?
Close
Wouldn’t it be great if your cat could email you while you’re at work, to tell you his / her location? Or even better, how about a map on the internet where you can see where your cat is?

Well, the good news is that using some cutting edge electronica you can now see where our cat is, pretty much every day. We caught Ndelie the lion and fitted him with a highly specialized collar that not only records his location with an accuracy of several metres, but also transmits this information via a satellite phone network to this website.

This collar is a finely-tuned sports-car. Its mechanism is highly sophisticated, and when it works, it performs really well. When it doesn’t work, well, it can still be interesting, and a great example of the intersection of modern GPS and African wildlife science. If the collar is offline, we’ll try to let you know . Lets hope for the best!
